Description:
The York Suburban School District has a new home for their young students at Yorkshire Elementary School. A structural steel frame supports composite beam floors, bar joist roofs, and diagonally-braced lateral load resisting elements. Steel framing is also used to support various architectural features: sloping walls, masonry veneer, metal panels, and glue-laminated timber columns and canopies. Ornate timber columns and wood flooring were salvaged from the original Yorkshire School and installed in the new Gymnasium.
