The Futer Brothers building is a three story turn-of-the-century brick bearing wall structure supporting wood framed floors. Two floors were added using steel stud bearing walls and steel sheathed shear walls. The new floor and roof were framed with wood I-joists. Significant interior framing was needed to add two stair cases and an elevator. With the addition of the two floors the building was restored back to its original five story height.
