This is Pennsylvania's first "Green" High School. The building features 4 teaching houses, 12 integrated preparatory and vocational programs as well as a community fitness center. Exterior materials such as block and wood siding were manufactured locally (within 100 miles of the school). Recycled materials were used in the structural steel framing, ceiling tile, rubber flooring and concrete. The ceiling material, used in the student commons entrance, is tongue and groove planking from sustainable harvested wood.
